What is 21 Day Fix Extreme?

How’s my 21 Day Fix EXTREME experience?
I started officially on February 16. I had started the 21 day fix meal plan while working on Insanity Max 30 program. My intention last week was to start the countdown to competition, but because of travel and some poor planning, I changed my first week around. I actually did most of the week on the EXTREME plan with 2 days of countdown to competition. I completed all of the exercises, and they were a bit intense and I’ve been working out consistently for 16 months! I didn’t miss one and was able to keep up but still a little sore. I’m excited to begin week 2 because I feel I will do even better this week.

I tried many of the recipes from the book. I made the turkey chili and beef stew! Both were delicious.


Another favorite is the pb and j oatmeal! This is yummy!

Turkey meatballs were good.

I’m looking forward to making more recipes this week. I also will be following the countdown to competition plan this week.

My favorite workouts are Upper and Lower Fix!

Insanity Max 30

This was my fifth Shaun T program that I have completed. The programs that I have completed are Insanity, Asylum, T25, Gamma, and now Insanity Max 30. I absolutely love Shaun T and the intensity of his workouts.

See below for some questions and answers about this amazing program. Three things that help me get through were shakeology, E&E and activit vitamins. I would recommend all of these. Sometime I do more than one program, but this time I decided to only do Insanity Max 30 because of the intensity.

My max out times did increase as I progressed through the 60 days. It does help to have a work out partner, my husband completed the program with me.  Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions. I'm here to help.


 I'm loving how I'm feeling and how strong I feel. I lost a total of 4 lbs and 3.5 inches. I didn't stick to the nutrition as closely as I should've but getting on track with that now for sure. My next adventure is 21 day fix extreme but I'd like to do another round of insanity max 30.




Q. What does it mean to MAX OUT?

So this was my third time doing 3 day refresh! I love this program because it's a jump start to get back on track. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but I am normal and often have some things I shouldn't. What really gets me is the BLTs-bites, licks and tastes! I'm currently using Insanity Max 30 as my exercise program, but even though it's intense if your eating gets out of whack, the results aren't as good. I wanted to kick off February with 3 day refresh! 


And it so goes.....it helps to have a buddy to do this with to keep each other on track. 

Was it difficult? Day 1 is always the hardest for me because I give up coffee. But after that it's not that difficult. In fact, it is very doable. I travel for work, so I just prepared my stuff the night before and I was all set. You can also have coffee but it must be black. 



What was my favorite part? I loved the vanilla fresh shakes. I wish I could buy a bag of it. I also loved that I could still have a vegan shakeology each day.

What was my least favorite part? The fiber sweep isn't bad, but the texture is kind of weird. You must drink it immediately or it gets lumpy.


Who should use the 3 day refresh?
Anyone wanting to lose a few pounds quickly. If you get off track, this is a quick way to get a clean start. 

What comes in the kit?
3 shakes, 1 fiber drink, for each day. Then you add 2 fruits, 1 healthy snack, and 1 dinner recipe.
You also must drink purified water and really seems to make a difference. The time before I didn't my results weren't as good. 

I did continue to exercise while doing the 3 day refresh. You might want to do a low impact or use the modifier because your caloric intake will be lower. Approximately 900 calories per day that may vary based on meal selection.) I did notice I was ready for bed earlier. I slept great though, didn't wake up several times like I usually do.

My RESULTS were great! I lost 6.3 pounds and 2.5 inches!!! I know pretty amazing. Just goes to show you I had some junk to get rid of!!! I'm back on track and refresh helped with that. I plan to continue with the 21 day fix meal plan now. Stay tuned for more information about this.

I made this yummy Super Bowl appetizer! It was quite delicious!


Cauliflower Buffalo Bites

A vegan approved, healthy take on hot wings.
Ingredients
  • 1 head cauliflower; chopped into bite size piece
  • ½ cup brown rice flour
  • ½ cup water
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Pinch of granulated garlic powder
  • Non-stick spray
  • ***Sauce***
  • 1 tsp. Earth Balance butter substitute; melted
  • ½ cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown rice flour, water, garlic powder and salt. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.
  3. Dip cauliflower pieces in the batter until coated evenly, then place on a lightly greased, non-stick baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the batter hardens, then flip with a spatula and bake for another 5 minutes.
  5. Whisk together Frank’s Red Hot sauce and Earth Balance butter substitute in a small bowl.
  6. When the cauliflower is finished, take a plastic pastry brush and evenly brush each piece with the hot sauce mixture.
  7. Bake coated cauliflower for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until cauliflower is crispy, and sauce looks absorbed.
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Let cauliflower bites set out for at least 20 minutes before serving.
  10. Enjoy!
